I was just wondering on how everyone cleans their grills? I find myself doing it differently then most people I know. Most people usually just give it the ole scrap and brush treatment, and others follow the ole scrap and brush with a few pyrotechnic shots of Pam.
I use a different method that I'm sure some of you guys have been doing. I give it the ole scrap and brush until I can see the metal shiny and polished. I never have the problem with the old stuff never coming off because of the second step. I don't use the Pam shots, but I scrub the grill with an onion half or the top of a pineapple. The onion or pineapple acts as a wet sponge that lifts any leftover grim from the grill. I think the acids from the onion and pineapple act as a cleaner. The result is a nice dark non-stick shine. The non-stick benefit will last too.
I use onions since I always have at least one. It does a good job and smells great, but the pineapple does a better job seasoning the grill. So if you're grilling and have an onion or a pineapple, you may want to try this if you don't already.
Any other good grill cleaning ideas out there? Thought I'd ask since I've never seen anyone discuss it.
