The Supreme Court ruled today that the citizen passed top two primary is constitutional. Secretary of State Reed has announced that this August's primary will be conducted under the new rule. My thoughts:

1. I don't like this as much as the "open primary" that we had before.
2. I like this a hell of a lot better than the silly oaths on the primary ballot under the system we have been using since the parties got the open primary declared unconstitutional.
3. The old rule of unintended consequences - I would expect that Luke Esser (GOP) and Dwight Pelz (Dem) may be pining for the good old days of the open primary. I'm very certain that the Libertarian party (also part of the original lawsuit) are really disappointed. They all started this wind and have reaped the whirlwind.

We should get rid of all of the political parties. They don't serve much of a purpose unless you are an insider anyway.

Well, and some of them are mighty entertaining.
