This video takes a minute to load, but it worth it. There are still boats going this in California. Must be fun but back breaking. They use a small feather with a huge hook, no barb. The hook is more like a spike so when they bring the rod back foward the fish falls right off. I want to try this. Need lots of bait though.

My dad did a little of that.
Said it was kinda fun but tough work. Also said at times they used just a bare hook.
I can't get it to load.

YIKES!!! Some of those towards the end were 4 pole sets and they were having trouble getting them on the deck.

They said about 10 hours of continuous fishing before the bite finally started to slow down, right now I would take 5 minutes of that and be able to tell stories for the rest of my life

WOW What a way to go. I bet they had lots of fun but man what a way to fish. Bet they were glad when it was over. Tup:

damn! :eek: that looks like some fun there... bet to those guys it wasnt as glamrous as it is to all of us... but I sure wouldnt mind tryin it though thats for sure.
