The Tax Rebate

My feeling is that the Tax Rebate is a bunch of BS. My wife and I live on Social Security with a total income of under $35K per year and certainly do not need the proposed rebate in order to purchase things that we want without going into debt. So for all of the people in the $75-150K income brackets why in the hell would they need an extra $600-1200. I think this whole idea is asinine.

It is welfare for the working class. Anyone that takes the money should not complain about the Gov't spending too much on welfare. Especially those of us on the right. A lot of the guys on the hard right are always complaining about welfare. Here's your chance to make a difference. Don't take the money.

FF, how do we know you were really made in the US? I can't just take your word for it. I will need a certified copy of your birth certificate, a printout of your latest credit report, a copy of your drivers license, and just for giggles, a copy of your medical records...

That's how things are done these days, ya know? ;)

The real question is: Do you thnk this will help the economy? Not what some of you Dumb
Sh--s are going to do with the money. With the vast amount of money to be given as a rebate, why doesn't the government spend it instead on road improvement etc. which will also increase the economy, create jobs, and be useful instead of me going out and buyng a new rod/reel.

Just one more reason why I can't stand the Bush Administration.

Can someone please explain to me "Where" they're getting this money from? And once they send all these checks out and the money gets spent.....Then what?

Who pays all this money back? I mean the government is borrowing it from somewhere....Right?

So our kids get to pay this back over the next xx years?

I just don't see how the incentive is going to do anyone any good. The idea is to spend it on American made products but to most, free money is free money and they ain't gonna be told how to spend it. I personally buy USA every chance i get. I work in an industry that struggles because of foreign out sourcing. I don't need my job to be out sourced also.

If i had to take a wild guess, this is nothing but a "Vote Republican again" scheme.

You can't blame this totally on the Bush administration. All the elected idiots from this state voted for it .
I can't see how dudes like Tancrato , Hunter and Paul , all whom voted against it , got or are getting no traction in their bid for the highest office. But the morons who will promise us the moon and hand us the bill are still competeing for the top spot. It doesn't make a difference if you are a d or r. time to wake up boys and girls. Observe the selling out of our nation.
Coming soon to a neighborhood near you Socialism. And the funny thing is we are going to do it to ourselves

IBNC.. wants to know where the money comes from. Hell it comes from the print shop. It's been that way since they took your gold. And then forgot about making sure there was enough bullion to back up the paper. It's only paper and it is worth whatever you can con with it.

I don't agree with the package but "Bush" again? The Democrats control the House. The Democrats control the Senate and it's Bush's fault... conf:

Yup, its Bush’s fault all right. He made the Democrats control the house and the Senate and then sit back and do nothing. Shame on Bush.
