My wifes brother and sister and familys are coming for Christmas, her sister from Denver with her husband, two adult kids(the boy just got out of prison) and grandaughter and her brother from Oregon with his wife and two German Shepards, the smallest of which weighs 125#. That means 7 house guests plus our four kids, their four kids, our mothers, four dogs, and some family friends will be at my house for Christmas. She was scheduled for a knee replacement in Feb but just got a call that somebody canceled and has decided to have the surgery on the 20th which means she will be just getting out of the hospital on the 24th.
So the question is: How do you think she is going to take it when I tell her I decided to go pheasant hunting in South Dakota and am leaving the 22nd?

Just a dream guys, I'll be at home cooking, fixing drinks and smiling and probably have to listen to a dozen phone calls from my hunting buddies who are really going.

And my stuff wouldn't be in the driveway, it would be a burnt and smoldering pile in the pasture. The thought of my uncles old model 70 burnt and smoking is what kept me home!

After two days of house guests and running to the hospital every day I can say that there is only one difference between me and that buck on the fence. That lucky SOB died.
