Any active divers on this forum? I got certified a few weeks ago for recreational diving and was out in the sound all weekend. There are some monster fish down there. Anyone dive for crab during the season? I hear Mukilteo is a good spot. I'd love to hear from any active divers. Thanks.

I was with the Lake Stevens fire dept and i started their dive rescue team back in the 80s.I have been certified for years as a master diver and search and rescue.I havent hit the water in many years and i doubt i ever will again.I screwed up while on a dive in the San Juans while looking for scallops.I came up too fast{to this day i still think i came up fine} and ended up feeling sick.Buddies were concerned i had the bends so the Coast guard helicoptered me to Virginia Mason and i spent the weekend in a hyperbaric chamber as a precaution. The doctors at that time restricted my diving to 2 atmospheres or 66 feet for a year.I also couldnt fly for that year.
I do have one thing to say about diving dont go alone always dive with a buddy.People that dive alone are asking for something bad to happen.Dont dive at Mukilteo the current there really rips at times and if you;r not prepared it could get ugly really fast.Padi i think still offers a current diving class.Take it it can save you;r life.

I don't dive (only freedive when I'm back in my old Hawaiian stomping grounds) but found a pretty cool website with a list of dive sites around the sound. It breaks it down by regions, has pictures and descriptions of the dive and a list of what fish and wildlife you will see. I use it for bottomfishing ideas but it might help you find several cool places to go and explore. Adios, T

well congrats on the cert. just make sure you keep up on it or you'll get rusty on your skills underwater. So what made you want to get into scuba? are you local around the sound , where did you go threw your cert classes at ? Well anyhow my names chris Im from the tacoma area, i got cert like last dec time. But if you looking for an active dive group look up ....puget sound depthchargers... or ...northwest dive club..
