Pardon my ignorance, but where is Rufus Woods? Is it part of a river or a lake or a resevoir? What kind of boat would be neccessary there? I would love to make it there this Feb but don't think I can swing it. Is Feb the best time? What makes the fishies so big there? I would love to know more about this fishery. clown:

Rufus Woods is the part of the Columbia River between The Grand Coulee Dam and the next one down (I cant remember off the top of my head). As long as the wind doesn't come up, you could fish it with a smaller boat. I will be taking our 20' sled over in February though. The colder months are generally the better fishing months. What makes the biggest difference is the amount of water they are letting out of the Dam. The more flow, the better the fishing. The fish get big from hanging around the pens and eating all that food. They are also a triploid.
