My moms boyfiend is taking me up to the Hoh to fish for winter kings. Is there a such thing as winter kings up there conf: and if there are, what are the reports over there?

You could catch them on lots of stuff i'm sure. I've never targeted them but the upper Oly Pen rivers have early runs of spring kings. A few of them opened on Jan 1st.

There are NO "Winter kings" in the Hoh river.

There are late FALL chinook that you'll sometimes see in December... but salmon fishing closes on Nov. 30th and doesn't re-open 'til May.

Hoh springers are all wild and are actually more of a summer chinook.

The Sol Duc river gets a plant of hatchery springers that start showin' up around the end of March / early April.

Wild steelhead are what everybody is fishing for there now.

How are the Steelhead reports up there anyways?
