+1 That explains it plainly, ...A whole industry grows up around the problem.. the GW industry is a prime example.. the lahar inustry ( in the Puyallup valley) is another one, they get some California hot tub Gomers (thanks Ted) to study & declare a looming disaster, then the press gladly goes to work to glorify the impending doom & scare the populace. Careers are made & tens of millions of dollars spent to find the cure...I love America!Skorzeny said:Let me apprise you of the Scientific Process Wham Bam. The scientists run around and gather a lot of data. Then they publish a report based on the data. (that's how they get funded by the taxpayer) With replenished grants they get some more data and formulate a theory. The media makes sure the public assimilates the scientifically derived theory. This releases an enviro-nut fall like you cannot imagine. Some smart snake oil salesman realizes that he can reap a bunch of capital and influence by jumping on the incipient disaster alleged by the theorists. He does.
None of our Atmospheric Scientists have a data log of satisfactory duration to make serious predictions. They can speculate all they want and do. Some realize it is speculation and enjoy the process, it is interesting. Others see profit in the scare factor and enjoy the process.
An inch of new snow this morning in Spokane. More evidence of global warming.
I'm hoping they don't. I'm hoping the planet won't be so over run with the human species and I'm hoping I'm not around to see it happen if it does. If only 1/4 remained, the planet might have a chance.I hope all you youngers out there figure out how to fix it without killing off 3/4 of the population.
What makes you think that we won't be a footnote whether or not we do something? It's quite possible that we could (over "geological time") go the way of the Saber tooth and Mastodons......those dudes must have driven some real gas guzzlers wink:Webo said:At some point we're gonna HAVE to do SOMETHING... and by that I mean the whole world's human population... or else Mother Nature may just take back her planet and the human species will just be a footnote in saga of geologic time. :?
'Cause that's the kinda guy I am!Why would you care Webo?
