SEATTLE - A scuba diver died after being found unconscious in Seattle's Elliott Bay near Alki Point on Saturday afternoon.

Paramedics work on a diver found unconscious in Elliott Bay.

Witnesses said they noticed the diver, who was diving alone, in need of help at around 1:30 p.m.

Nearby divers helped pull the man to safety, but he was unconscious and needed medical attention.

"It took us two to three minutes just to swim him in. by the time we got to shore paramedics were arriving. They cut his dry suit off and began CPR," said Zach Meissner.

The diver was rushed to Harborview Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy will be conducted on Monday.
