Nice rod, I have the Gl2 version....great on smaller type steelhead/salmon...I'd only use it for larger fish from a boat or where river current is condusive to allowing an extended battle... That's my opinion though.
Great light weight drift rod , I have a 1083c which is the big brother to that rod. Like said before steelies or small salmon. I would not use it for kings myself I have hooked large silvers on my 1083 and turning them is a chore. I have landed a 25lbs plus king on that rod I was very lucky he was isolated in a deep hole. With guys fishing below me that kept spooking him back toward me. It is definitely a rush to land a big fish on light gear.
