So i'm gonna switch over a few of my plug rods (981, 1021, old glass 10-20, lami 1330) to braid. I know 30lb power pro is the standard for plugging for steelhead, but I was wondering what everyone runs on their kwikfish, and diver rods? I was thinking 40lb PP and then i could also get away with running smaller steelie plugs too. Seems like 40lb would also work pretty well for hover fishing and maybe some backbouncing. I just don't know if 50lb or even 65lb PP is really necessary?? Are their really any advantages to running the larger lines around here??? The north end rivers don't really get monster kings like some of the Columbia tribs do.

I run 40 or 50 on almost all my rods. Works fine for me. I especially like it on the one piece loomis plug rods. Tup:

I like braid and use it pretty much for all my plug and spinner rods. 40 pound Power Pro gets everything done. With that said when fishing Salmon plugs say K-15, 16's I ike to use 65..... is it an over kill? I don't think. For Steelhead 30 and 40 are my choice.
