After so much catawardling about water boarding by the Reps on this site. I was just wondering if this fella was a Democrat.

US national intelligence chief Mike McConnell has said the interrogation technique of water-boarding "would be torture" if he was subjected to it.

Mr McConnell said it would also be torture if water-boarding, which involves simulated drowning, resulted in water entering a detainee's lungs.

He told the New Yorker there would be a "huge penalty" for anyone using it if it was ever determined to be torture.

Now surely he mustbe a Democrat after uttering such words. ;)

Wrong again, George has done many things I don't like. I don't think he has used the pulpit to his advantage. He shouldn't have signed the prescription drug bill, education bill with Kennedy, and should have used the veto pen many more times that he has. He has been too nice to the opposition in my opinion. The amount of earmarks that are included in bills is simply irresponsible. On honesty, Afghanistan, and Iraq, I think he has been correct and I stand behind him on that. He is honest and I challenge anyone to prove me wrong on that. He should have worked harder on changing the tax system. With a war on his hands I understand. The death tax, AMT, and capital gains need to be eliminated. The tax system should be the same percentage to everyone. Taxing the higher income and letting the lower income off is not fair. If you don't pay taxes because you are in the lower income bracket, you will always vote for higher taxes on the so called rich because it doesn't effect you. Everyone in America should be on the same playing field. Hammer for President!! I'll even get Webo in my cabinet for balance.

You don't do something just to do it and feel popular. You do something because you believe in it. I would have veto 70% of the crap that came to his desk. SA, if you don't think we are taxed enough, why don't you volunteer to pay 65% of what you make? Hell, pay even more, nobody is stopping you.

According to the accounted I already pay much more than I have to. (12% to 26% over the last 15 years, I keep very good records) I do not look for ways to horde my money (If I had I would have retired 10 years ago) or find "tax shelters" so I can keep more. I guess I'm a rare bird that accualy enjoys going to work most days and my customer are friends rather than dollar signs. Someone has to pay for those that use ploys to accumulate wealth. wink:
You said it best yourself SH, there were some things that should have gone through but unfortuantly most politicains (rep and dem) do not do what is right for the public, but what they feel is right to make thier party look strong. :x Hang them all I say! I feel change in the wind.... but I doult it being change that will benifit the majority of the tax paying public; most likley just a draft that needs more insulation to stop it.

His opinion is his opinion nothing more nothing less. The question is not is it torture as a common man would see it but does it fit the legal definition and there fore where does it fall in the interpretation of the regulations in place at the time. Anyone that thinks that it is not torture has to be real stupid. It's real simple to me if you agree to and sign the Geneva Conventions then it cannot be used. You get caught in active warfare agaisnt the US and your country does not take part in the GC then all bets are off and we will use a couple of pipe swingers a blow torch and some pliers if needed.

Now the next part the libs like to toss out is WWJD. It's real simple again , hell is where the non beleivers end up I doubt it is a sunday picnic in the park.

If you don't pay taxes

Have you talked it over with Ff, you know your budy that said he pays no taxes. Maybe you should talk with him about that wink:
I really think you have a reading comprehension problem. I said as a corporation I have no income each year. I said nothing about paying taxes. To help you with your reading disorder here is exactly what I said.

Real estate agents can be employees but most are not. That's not to say that an employee cannot possess a real estate license. As a corporation I make absolutely nothing every year. Uncanny! But as the president I make just enough to buy a loaf of bread every 3 days. Sometime a case of Top Rammen... Everything else is top secret....
You're beyond the pale dude!

C'mon Ff you gotta make enough for Nabayaki Udon now and then. Much better than any of the Ramens.

Waterboarding=torture. Is that true. I suppose it can be construed as such. Reprehensible, for shame, naughty and so forth. However, if I had the responsibility and I THOUGHT for a moment that some perp had information that might save the lives of my countrymen I would authorize it in a heartbeat. My guilt would be MY guilt, twixt me and my Maker.

As a country you sign the GC and so must abide by it. Rummy has a lot to answer for on this, as it was him that said anything goes. But George as the head of the country will have to take the blame as he should have known what was going on in these CIA prisons and Cuba. Seeing as the tapes have been destroyed I am expecting the same will be said about the White House tapes and any other tapes were the talk about torture may appear.

So you do not pay yourself a salary out of, said corporation? How you described things in the above post, it sounded like you were doing a little creative accounting to make sure your business profits came out to zero each year. Must make it hard to get a positive credit rating. wink:

You just explained to me what kinda business/man you are. You work along the same lines that I classify as a "gillneter", who works under the cover of darkness.
I was trying to be nice. Polite. But ya know, you're too frickin stupid to realize that and I'm tired of your antics. You have no idea "what kind" of business man I am. All you know is what you "think" you know. And by the idiotic responses and lame brained empty headed ideals you espouse here daily I'm surprised you're not in a bloody straight jacket. What I would classify you as is just plain worthless. You will receive no quarter from now on. You my wretched friend have just become an open target to every sarcastic smart a$$ stereotypical label I can pin on your sorry little pathetic existence.... Tup:

King when did you make water boarding legal. Never heard of that before.
You don't make something legal bonehead. You make it illegal. Anyone with half a brain know that anything that is not made illegal IS legal. Even the most simple concepts slip through the cracks in that sieve of a brain...

He didn't have to, it's a matter of established precedent of it (Waterboarding) being alllowed with no legal consequence ever since Democrat Senator Teddy Kennedy first introduced it on Mary Jo Kopechne at Chappaquiddick in 1969.
