What happened to Fishing The West after HawgQuest?
A half hour of local fishing just isn't enough.

Should we get together and petition the Corporate drones for more local fishing on TV?
(seeing someone catch a bass in Texas that was released from a livewell so it can be filmed doesn't do the same thing for me as seeing a real steelhead or salmon or halibut or linkcod hookup)

Glenn called it a while back. When GI Joes was bought out and changed to Joes, he thought that they might not fund fishing the west. Looks like he was right.

Hey, let's make our own show! If we want local stuff, we are the one's doing it. We ALL fish cool places, around the Northwest! Haul a videocamera along. Put it on the web at first. There are not too many secret places around here, just "secret" bait. Just an idea.

I miss the Fishing the West re-runs. It was really nice to have a full hour and I kind of got a kick out of the contrast in style between Fishing the West and Hawgquest. I hope the reason for the absence is not a withdrawl of Joe's support. Sponsoring that show was one of the few things that chain did to overcome the negative impression resulting from sporting goods counter staff that all too often lack experience and credibility.
