Green River? Friday?

Has anyone seen the Green today, it went up to 1900 from 1300 yesterday, is it still fishable?

If it looks OK, does anyone want to meet up and fish it tomorrow morning?

Thanks

i will be at Flaming Geyser Fri am when gate opens--maybe I'll see you there.
Salmon Slayer,
What time does the gate open?
Thanks
Last Sunday the main gate opened around 645, but 50 yards aways there is a chain linked fence that you can park in front of that has a open gate.
I'm planning on being at FG tomorrow morning. May be about 8am. I'll be driving a black WRX. Come say hi, i'm friendly.
Plans changed, hitting the Cow...
Can someone tell me how exactly to get to FG. I am coming from Puyallup. I never fished the Green for steelies but always wanted to start since I'm not that far away. Do I need eggs under a float or jigs? The only gear I have now are just corkies and yarn. If that is not sufficient please let me know and I will get the necessary equipment needed. :)

tbarron Not too hard to find Flaming Geyser State Park. Go North on Hwy 167, East on Hwy 18, Exit Right at Auburn Black Diamond/Green Valley Road Exit (just before crossing the Green River on Hwy 18) Turn Right on Auburn Black Diamond Road, Turn Right (immediately) on Green Valley Road and follow to Flaming Geyser State Park Entrance on your Right (about 5 Miles).

There's a great "starting" Pool on your right just inside the Gate on your left by the "Model Airplane Field Parking Lot" (Honey Bucket) and better fishing upstream (up the paths in the Field) and at the end of the road (leading through the Park proper). Your Corkies and Yarn should work fine and you can add a cluster of Eggs or live Nightcrawler along with them or to the Jig and Bobber Setup (in case they are hitting Bait).
Just remember, Steelhead can be far and few between so keep at it and mimic the others fishing the river. If you stick with it your "Beginners Luck is bound to kick in and bring you some Steel!

Thanks for the info Trap. I will probably head down tomorrow in the morning. Tup:
Try a pink jig under a float tipped with prawn. That setup got me a 12-13 lbs native in FG this morning. Sorry, no photo, I did not expect to catch a native so the camera stayed home.

uhhhh, I'm kinda hoping the fish stayed home too.
Hook and Steely -
No worries, the fish was returned unharmed for your turn at him. Come on, get caught with one of those things and its jail time. Plus its good for the gene pool to keep him around. Fighting that brute for over five minutes and having him tear out my drag with his three runs was satisfying enough. I only wish I had a pic though. He took a 1/8 oz jig with a white head, pink body, and pink feathers tipped with tiger prawn under two and a half feet.

A guy at the airplane hole came down when i was floatin there and said someone had caught a bright native. Well done sir. I'm glad to hear reports of them and even more glad that it's a fellow GF member that caught him. Tup:

I was in the area for about 3 hrs today. Had one monster take down but i lost it because of faulty knot or something. I can assure you it won't happen again. I was fishing the same kind of jig you were except it had a red bead sticking out the tail end. White head, pink body seems to be the key. Only thing i was doin different was shrimp oil.
