Recently we finally made the move and got off of dial up and went with broadband. I have PS2, X-Box and X-Box 360.
I've never played on line yet, nor do I really have any future plans to pay to play, even if it is $50 a year. Maybe next fall, but not now.
So my question is, can I connect and play any of these gaming systems I have online for free. Shooter games like Ghost Recon, COD, Halo, ect. Older versions or newer. I assume that the 360 is pay to play, but what about the PS2 or old X-Box?

There is a free solution for you. It is called Xbox connect. This is their website, http://www.xbconnect.com/index.php?topic=About

I think this will work only with your regular Xbox, because it uses your Xbox to think it is playing a LAN game when in fact your are connected to your computer.

If you want to test drive Xbox live for a month I can send you’re a free Xbox live trial card that is good for 1 month. You will have to use your credit card to activate it I think but if you do not like the service, just call 1- 800 -4 -my- Xbox with all your info and cancel the account. If you would like to try it out I can send you a code that is good for 1 month of Xbox live. I highly recommend Xbox live, it is a ton of fun and playing games like Halo 3 and COD4 is great online. Also with Xbox Live you can access the marketplace where you can download game demos, rent movies, and buy arcade games which includes a lot of classic games which are a ton of fun.

When I got my 360 last year, I believe I received the free trial info, just haven't got around to digging it out. But then again I doubt I would give anyone my credit card number anyway. lol
I do remember that I could buy a gold card at stores to play. But like I was saying, I was more curious if I could plug in my older systems and play for free, when I had free time. If I paid to play my 360 I know it would be a blast and I would play on line all the time, but my sex life would go to pot real quick. (so I've been warned) :?
I was just sitting here at work thinking about it, so I thought I would asked.

I play on my PC. I prefer first person shooters (besides my madden) I've been playing counter-strike since 99'. Used to play competitively for money and such. If you want to play games for free the PC is the way to go for online. Someday I'll get back into the consoles, just not anytime soon.

Here is a link to look at for games on Steam. (a program created by Valve out of Bellevue that has all kinds of games you can download)

http://www.csnation.net/

I would imagine you may not be into some of these types of games but it's worth a look.

But if you wanted to just play a little Halo combat evolved or something xbox connect works great. In my opinion the original Halo was the best and Xbox connect is what people used back before Xbox live was out and Halo CE didn't have XBL support anyways. But if you need any help setting up Xbox live or any questions give me a holler Tup:

Ive noticed as i play counterstrike lately (been playing since feb 2005) that the hitboxes are off. Do you know if steam is going to fix this issue? Do you play on a local server?

If your playing the source version of counter strike the hit boxes are great. The original version of cs has horrible hitboxes due to the limitation of the half life engine. Which version are you playing? This is the server I tend to play on the most. 69.90.135.186:27015 Seattle All Pro Gamer's. If you have an old video card you may need to tweak your config. If you have a fast computer I can send you an autoexec with all of the settings you need to have good registration.

Since it makes the Xbox believe you are playing a Local network game while you are actually attached to the Computer, I believe this will only work with your standard Xbox. Text twist solver features a mixture of easy and tricky words to find. The words must be at least 3 letters long. You have a total of 2 minutes in each round to find as many words as you can before the timer runs out. To qualify for the next round, you need to find the longest word that uses all the letters. I can give you a free Xbox Live trial card good for a month if you want to try it out. I believe you'll need a credit card to activate it, however you may terminate your account by calling 1-800-4-my-Xbox and providing all the necessary information. I can email you a coupon valid for a month of Xbox Live if you want to give it a try. Xbox Live comes highly recommended.

All You Need to Know About Text Twist!
Sure you’ve heard of Text Twist, but have you taken the plunge into one of the most addictive 6-letter word games on your iOS device? Here’s precisely how it works before you download the app onto your iPhone, iPad, Android, or Windows device. You’re going to be faced with 6 letters that may seem random at first, but you will soon discover all the hidden words buried within those not-so-random letters from the alphabet. You’ll be given both consonants and vowels, and your job is to unscramble as many words as possible before the timer runs out! Does anyone detail the game word descrambler and text twist
