Good reminder. But I thought the speed law is: No faster and no slower than the post speed limit. I know cops aren't out there to split hairs, but on the eastside of the mountians it could be different.

I don't think the WSP is going to pull you over for 3 MPH over the limit. I think they like to catch the big fish, 20+ MPH over the limit.

Urban legend? " $124 fine driving 6 to 10 mph over the speed limit. It also will apply to various infractions, including running a stop sign or traffic light, following too closely, failing to signal, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, crossing a double yellow line, and driving without a license or an expired one.The penalty for talking on a cell phone without using a hands-free device will be $124 when a new law takes effect in mid-2008." I have looked up the cell phone law. You can't text message as of Jan 1, 2008. Talking on your cell is not illegal until June or July of 2008. It is also not a major offense, they are not supposed to pull you over for it. They are supposed to have a different reason for pulling you over to ticket you for this, but I'm sure they will ticket you regardless.

"Under the new laws, drivers who read and compose text messages or talk on a cell phone without a hands-free device could face a $101 ticket. The text-messaging ban takes effect Jan. 1; the cell-phone law will be enforced starting in July 2008."

Copied from KOMO 4 news.

There are "some" stupid laws. None of the ones listed above fall under that category except the 3mph over the limit one, imo.

I'm guilty of not using my signal though. I'll have to correct that.
