Went fishing at Lake Mills the last 2 nights. Caught one Saturday night on a #16 Elk hair caddis. Then I switched to a #8 black woolly bugger and got 2 bites but didn't land any. Sunday the fishing was really slow. Got 1 bite off of the woolly bugger and that was it. Very few fish rising.

Fished the Elwa during the week of 8/14. Fished the lower river, and did well on #16 green drakes and #14 yellow sallies. For the upper river (in the park) a #14 elk hair caddis seemed to be the trick. Caught around 15 rainbows (between 10 and 16 inches) each evening, and one bull trout (14 inches). The park entrance had some incredible hatches coming off at about 8:30 pm. Tight lines!

Parked the camper on the side of the road just outside the National Park Check-in Hut, next to the river along a nice slow pool. Fished at dusk for about an hour w/ one nice fiesty trout taking my #3 Vibrax spinner, spit the hook as he fought for his little life though.
