I watched the bank warriors on the 16th while I was out with XLT Guide Service. Tup: I am interested in trying that type of fishing but am pretty much set up for downrigger fishing up here in Areas 9-13.
I would appreciate some guidance on the Pole brand/ type/length/line weight rating. The reel, spinning/open face/line weight rating. Braided line or mono, line weight rating. Leader length and weight rating.
It looked like it could be alot of fun in that fast water especially with the crowd. I would probably get my feet wet during the week when there might be less of an auduience. :|

I have not fished Blue Creek this year. I am not sure if the Creek itself is good or not as they have moved the hatchery intake into the main river. When I have fished it in the past I fished downstream from Blue Creek itself in a branch of the main river and "The Point" which is the end of a long hike from the parking lot.

I used 1 oz to 2.5 oz bank sinkers depending on flow, minimum 4 ft leader (15 lb mono) and 20 lb main. Kenai special rod, ABU Garcia baitcaster, 1 medium or two small corkies, yarn, and 1-0 or 2-0 hooks (Gammie).I liked orange and pink corkies. The flow can be fast, so when you hook fish you got to be able to control them--if they get in the current they are gone.

I have also glow-balled before the sunrise with some success--but playing/landing a fish in the dark is a weird experience.

Hope this helps.
