CommanderX and I just had to go back after scoring yesterday. Got on the water just in time for the AM high tide change.

I threw on the old trusty Army Truck Coho Killer and today was Doug's turn to try something different. He went with an Army Truck Coyote spoon, if you call that different... ;) Kept the gear on the bottom.

Took about 45 minutes and then I boated a BM with some size, FINALLY, a 7 1/2 pounder. Doug stuck to his guns and left his spoon on and about an hour later he was rewarded with a 23 incher. Ha, ha, I got the big fish today... :D

The weather was better today, sunny, no wind and there were more boats out. We didn't see anything else caught and we were the 2nd and 3rd fish checked as of 12:30.

It was a good couple of months of BM fishing and we can't wait until mid February. We will be there for the opener, or at least I will... Doug may be chasing trout at Rufus Woods.

Happy New Year to all and here is some BM porn to end the year...

Seasport, you aren't gonna make it to Rufus? Come on, the fish are bigger there and the beer will keep cold sitting out in the air. Nice job on the fish today guys, what are you going to do with those stinky black mouth?

I'll have an area 13 report tomorrow afternoon for ya. I put the new power winch on the trailer today that my wife got me for X-mas and it is too small for my boat. It winched the boat up half way and decided to quit. So I'm fishing the tide change tomorrow and returning the winch on Wednesday.

Jack, we were gonna try the mooching thing yesterday. It was too cold for us pansies so we trolled, caught fish and had to do the same today...

DB, I can't do the Rufus thing for a couple of reasons... First, it's the BM opener, so I gotta hit that. Second, that is the Daytona 500 weekend and being from Enumclaw I gotta sit home, drink beer, root for my favorite fellow Enumclawite and get in touch with my inner *******. I will be looking for your MA-13 report. I want to get out there at least once or twice this January, just don't have any confidence waaaay down there... :(

Oh yea...I'm gonna smoke the stink right out of them! ;)

We made it out this morning too....myself, fishdigme and our friend Trace. We fished the mouth of Quartermaster Harbor and only managed 1 fish, not quite long enough to be legal. The highlight of the day was watching a pod of orcas cruise north out of Commencement Bay, headed towards Des Moines. They are always impressive!

Great report Seasport. Very nice to see one with a little size. Gives a fisher a little hope.

DB, we are hopefully hitting 13 tomorrow too. We'll look for you. We'll be in a 16 ft. Gregor with a blue top. Lars

I wish we would have noticed the orcas. We did notice the surprising lack of seals though.

Doug, I guess we should have actually looked around when we were talking about how cool it would be to see the Orcas...

Something happened to the pictures, I'll repost them when I get home later today.

Seasport, I'm no math genius but I do know that 10 lb trout beats 5 lb blackmouth any day and Jimmy Johnson wins the Daytona 500. There solved your problems now hop in Commander X's rig and we will see you there. Tup:
Ya, but...Those 5 pound Blackmouth are 40 minutes from home in a lot warmer climate (remember, I'm a sissy) and I think Junior will win and shove the trophy up the wicked stepmothers hiney...
