[size=150]This is from the campaign of Bush vs McCain. Ironic isn't it?
"
"It started in the debate last weekend, when Bush asked McCain a leading question that anticipated his false TV commercial. The Bush thesis was that McCain would raise income taxes by $40 billion over five years on ''working people'' by ''taxing'' their ''benefits.''"

What's another $800 billion? We've spent more than that in Iraq.

Hell... we'll just borrow it from the Communist Chinese like Bush does already! clown:

Funny you mention that, My sons soccer coach is a Dane. He moved here to avoid paying 71% in income tax. I imagine the one being polled were benefitiing from his outlay.

That statement speaks volumes. This is AMERICA. What the heck don't all you liberal ninnyhammers understand about that simple concept. If you want Europe GO THERE. If you want it, go get it, but don't force feed that European crap down Americas throat with BS propaganda and spin. If Obama and Hillary were honest like the leftists on this board are they would voice their true intentions. But guess why they don't. Guess why they mask their true intent with empty promises of change. Because the overwhelming majority of people wouldn't fall for it. Although many people want a different kind of leadership there's no way the American people would every elect them if they really spoke what they believe.. No way..

Volumes indeed ff! conf:

Liberal ninnyhammers be damned!

Why hide behind a label like Conservative? This is AMERICA goddamnit! Why don't the right-wing fascists just come out and say what they REALLY want to do to this country... which is to turn it into a Christian Theocracy / Corporate Oligarchy where the vast majority of citizens are so paralyzed with fear they dare not speak out! They want to create a virtual right-wing Matrix where the populus is SO inebriated on the Kool-Aid of Hate that they are content to further slip into abject poverty... all while a cabal of corrupt corporate CEO's steals every last dime of their hard-earned retirement accounts and destroys the environment in the name of profit to the point where it's not even safe to breath the outside air anymore! All of this culminating in their self-fulfilling of the Book of Revelations prophecy of Armageddon and subsequent Rapture... only to be welcomed at the gates of ultra-conservative Heaven by none other than Adolf Hitler!

How's THAT for a ridiculous statement ff? :?

It almost rivals the banality of yours...

...almost. wink:

Webo you are entertaining if nothing else. Tup:

Seriously though. Tradition. Institutions. Heritage. Beliefs. All mean something to most thinking people. What you fail to understand is it's not conservatives who are changing America. It's Liberals like you who desire a European Social Rule and that's not how America was founded. Conservative are merely voicing their frustration and anger at the constant barrage of attacks against our system of government, economy and foundational institutions like Marriage, Religion, Gun Rights etc by Socialistic leaning politicians and members of the electorate. Face it. We're fighting to protect America. You are fighting to change it. Very sad..

Our government is supposed to reflect the will of the people. If our elected representatives vote for Social Security. Medicare and other programs you consider socialist, that is simply the will of the people. I beleive our country has always prided itself on our representative form of government. We get what we aks for. If you don't like it you can always leave. We are not going back to the way things were 200 years ago. You might as well get used to that. love it or leave it!

How can the will of the people be reflected as a representative government when politicians running for office hide behind lies and deception to mask their true intentions. I might agree with you in totality if elected officials were honest about their intent but they're not and I sincerely hope you're not gonna argue they are.

Although I agree to a certain extent you're missing the point. You have to understand the entire context of the discussion not parse out the minor parts that fit your agenda or opinions. Here is what I wrote and as you'll plainly see (or should see) some people should be pack'n their bags and leaving.

FF, you are so darn articulate with issues and knowledgeable. Why don't you post some stuff on the Rossi thread? His campaign is watching. Bring some ideas to our next governor.

Actually Wham Bam... The quote is from an 8 year old article in the Boston Globe by Thomas Oliphant, a man with even less credibility on Bush's position, then or now, than your credibility here!

Hahahaha, good one. You thought no one would notice.

Here is a link to the article: Boston Globe

You can read all the Globe coverage on McCain/Bush here.

Hope you enjoyed your excursion into the past. :p

No deception intended. The first line of the post tells anyone who reads it that the article is from the Bush vs McCaim campaign. I figured even the most brainwashed conservative would know that was eight years ago. I just wanted to remind folks how Bush and Rove behaved back then. Of course, now he says it's silly to question McCain's conservative credentials.

Still, maybe Bush was right for once. Ann Couter says that of the three cantidates Clinton is the most conservative. This has gotta be a train wreck for the righties.

That it is. However, anyone who thinks having the choice between that woman and that man with a different ethnic background is somehow better isn't paying attention.

Let's be honest here Whammy.

You are avoiding the fact that your headline attributes something you claim Oliphant said to Bush.

Your lie would be closer to accurate if your headline read...

Thomas Oliphant says Bush says McCain will bust the budget.

And even then it would be a lie because no where in the article did anyone claim that either Bush or McCain would "Bust The Budget".

But Oliphant did say in the same article...

"No wonder McCain ties him (Bush) in knots in New Hampshire with a deft blend of accessibility, authenticity, and common-sense conservative reform. And no wonder his (Bush's) mom has taken to saying that Bush 'should' be president, as if the Oval Office were a codicil in his trust fund."

(and)

"But ever since the straw poll put on by the party here last August, Bush has been at best a mediocre candidate in Iowa and a wretched one in New Hampshire. Adversity made Al Gore better; it is making Bush worse."

I guess that explains why Bush 'stole' the election.
