I would like to let everyone who floats the Green to look out for some lost gear, oars, and the boat. It happened yesterday and everyone is lucky to still be with us today. Watch out for the new cotton wood that is where the boat and the people went under the the log. Please reply if any gear is found!! :(

I might be floating it tomarrow and my friend is today. is it a new tree in the same log jam below metzler or is this a new jam???
Glad to hear everyone is OK and no one was killed!!!

Where did it happen? Any details on how it happened? Glass or Alum DB? Toon?
It is Aluminum and it is going to be pulled today if they can??
The log is at the split by Metzlers!!
I had a Koffler high side for 25 years and was always looking and never side ways drifting down in any water even frog water! Sometimes if your not sure what is ahead, better to get out and walk down and survey the situation before moving downstream. I ran my own boat and fished while anchored but never while boondogging down a river both hands on the oars always. It can go bad in a heartbeat, I am glad you guys made it out alright. I have seen others that did not fair as well, I hope you get all your gear and your boat back.
I just got back from the Green and was going to post about this. Talked to a guy in the parking lot at the Hwy. 18 bridge that told me he went over right in front of the boat that flipped and he barely made it looks like you can make it over from the upstream side but there is a 2' to 3' drop on the back side. He said he was going to walk around today.
Glad to here every one is allright!!!!
Has anyone heard if they recovered any of their gear? The most important part of course is that everyone made it out all right! I just bought my boat a few months back, and it's stories like this that makes respect the power of hydraulics even more. I had an experience a few weeks back where a log grabbed me, but I was able to spin out of it clown: It happened sooo fast, it was like time was in fast forward!! What's more important is we all live to fish another day!!
One word PFD. Ok three. Did they have them on?
Very glad to hear that you all made it out ok. It is really amazing how fast things can happen on the river. Scary to think that you guys went under the log. I hope that it did not have many branches on it. All it takes is one flexible branch to snag on something that you are wearing to keep you under with the current. Gives me the creeps just thinking about it. Thanks for the warning. Wish that you would have gotten the same warning from someone else. Also hope that you get some of your gear back.
These we two older guys one 68 one is his early 60's one had a float coat that probably saved his life the orther popped out pretty fast. Both were sweep under the log. The boat seems to have disappeared. If anyone knows what happened to it please post. Some folks found some of the gear and are returning it thanks. These two guys have been very involved with salmon and steelhead policy for years. They are also very experienced boaters. They made a bad call and tried to go over the log, let that be a lesson it is better to be safe than sorry and wear that PFD. They tree is about 200 hundred yards below Metzler park just after the split goes into the woods. It is easy to lift the boat over the log on the right. Be safe.
Does anyone have an update on this story? Did everything end up out OK and Safe?

How does the river look now?
Yes everyone is ok but the boat was not recovered and is nowhere to be found??
Is it assumed that some scum bag yarded it out or do they think it is under the logs?
Word on the river today was that 2 guys in Catarafts, that were behind the guys who went in the water, bailed it and took it.... too bad they couldn;t have seen too it that the owner's got it back....if they haven't, they should...or Karma could come in to play..... sick:
