Hit area 8-2 for a winter charter trip today.
Fished the NW corner of Hat Island.
After dodging probabely 60 crab pot bouys from Port of Everett to the marina on Hat Island, we finally got the gear in the water about 8:00am.
Started out a little slow. About 9am got our first takedown.....a 25" "Wild" fish.....back it went.
From that point on the action got pretty good. Ended the day with 3 in the box, 23" to 25", with the proper # of fins, released 4 very nice "Wild" fish, 24" to 28". Lost two additional nice fish at the boat.
Excellant bait in the area. Fish were caught in multiple depths in the water column. Tried to keep the boat on the 100' depth contour.
Fished three rods with (1) 603 Tomic 5", (1) 602 Tomic 5" and (1) Purple Haze Hoochie 36" behing a Purple Haze 11" Hot Spot flasher. All three set-ups caught fish.
Speed 2.0 to 2.3 mph on the GPS.
Camera broke and am now waiting for my clients to email the pictures.
