I'm heading up in a couple of days to try out the Nook or the Skagit from shore with my dad and little bro. Can anyone please let me know how the water is, or if they have had any luck? I have heard that the water is looking okay for the Skagit..... anyone have any input???? Thanks!!!!

If you are going to bank it I would give the upper reaches of the Skagit a try and also hit the Cascade (skagit steelhead hatchery), if fishing the Nooksack make sure you check the regs, on the 15th there was a clossure near the NF hatchery where most of the early steelies go...If the water if fishable near HW 9 you should be able to get into something around there as well! good luck!

Closure is 1000 ft up above the hatchery down to Mosquito Lk Rd Bridge.

The closure is due to the "early steelies" NOT going to the hatchery. There are fish in the system, but for some odd reason they continue to bypass the hatchery. Don't place undue pressure on that system, focus on the Cascade for banking it.
