I'm staying out of the 9mm vs .40 vs .45 debate for which one is better for defensive use. With current modern day defensive ammo any of them will do just fine as long as the shooter does their part (shot placement).

I don't have experience with that specific gun. But my opinion on the .40 is it has a really snappy recoil, especially with hot defensive rounds. Thats shooting with the current polymer frame guns (Glock, XD, M&P), I have not shot .40 with a steel frame gun yet.

Recoil is very subjective. But to me a .45 feels more like a push, .40 feels really snappy, and 9mm little snap but not really much at all. Of course it all depends on the ammo too. I've shot some +P rounds that felt like IPSC bunny fart loads. :D
