If
you choose to fish with my service,
you may want to book a trip to fish
for the huge Chinook (King) Salmon that
reach up to 50 pounds in the Fall. Although
rare, the true 50 pounders do exist
and I have clients each year that manage
to boat one of these huge beasts. Our
average Coastal Chinook Salmon is around
23 pounds. These are by far my favorite
fish to target.
Along
with the Chinook, we would be fishing
for Coho (Silver) Salmon. They don't
get as large, but fight extremely well
and are great table fare. The average
Coho Salmon weighs in at 8 pounds but
there are enough 20 plus pounders around
to keep things interesting.
Throw
the hard fighting Chum Salmon in the
mix and your arms may be tired of fighting
fish at the end of the day.
This
year's also a "Pink" year,
so we'll be booking trips on the Skagit.
Depending
on where the fish are, we'll fish the
Cowlitz, Humptulips, Chehalis, or the
Skagit for Salmon.
