If I want to catch fish for sure, I go to this lake. If the trout aren't biting, the perch are. Worms on the bottom or about 2-3 feet off the bottom for perch, and worms about 8 feet down for trout (when its hot), 5 feet when its chilly.

Fished for about 2+ hours. Slow trolled with a 48" lake troll spinner and wedding ring at about 10ft deep.
Caught and released 2 perch.

Other rod (my boy's) used a dodger with weight and a wedding ring at about 15-20ft deep.
Caught and released two perch.

No trout or other action in three weeks. Water is very warm. It's time for the river.

Caught a NICE crappie(almost 3 pounds!!) last night trolling slow in 12ft of water along lillies on west side of the lake with a chartreuse rooster tail about an hour before dark. 3 guys fising from our boat, lots of nibbles but no other fish caught. I let him go, so he might still be out there!

took my new pontoon boat again for 2nd trip this morning. Hit the lake before anyone - raining to beat the band. started off trolling wedding ring with worm; got 6-7 hits; kept one; short released two others. still fished with worm; got 3 more. tied on a single swivel trailing a wooly bugger and trolled back to the boat ramp; got lots of hits, and finally banged a nice one right in front of rainbow resort dock. all and all a good day - in spite of the rain. love the new pontoon boat!

Hit Tanwax around 1230pm and fished it for about 4.5 hours using bead head wooley buggers (olive) on floating line. We C&R's around 20 bows. My 6 year old reeled everyone of them in and had a blast. A few others on the lake taking more fish then regulated. Glad my kid will grow up respecting the kill.

Spent all day fishing off a private dock near Camp Lakeview. Caught nothing. Fished with Power Baits, salmon eggs, and even a colorful little spinner.
From what I could see of other anglers, they weren't catching anything either.

Went out on opening day for a little fun and had a great day! I brought my bass gear and gave it a try too. The water where I was at was about 53 deg., but I still managed to catch a bass on a jig and pig. It weighed about 1 and 1/4 pounds. Got Him buy Emerging lilly pads and saw one other guy pull a bass out of the same type of cover. Also caught some nice rainbows on power bait, 16 to 18 inch fish. Dont forget to catch and release, good luck!

Fished Tanwax from about 5-9pm. Conditions were perfect... calm lake, no people, perfect temperature. Only problem was there were no fish. Trolled for 4 straight hours and managed to hook 1 small perch. All of the other boats we spoke to were also getting shutout.

I Fished of the dock @ Rainbow Resort at about 7:30 PM. I managed to hook a 1.5 pound rainbow using sherbet Power Bait. There was some locals fishing for perch further down the dock, I looked in their buckets and they had a few small perch. Tanwax Lake seems to be getting better for fishing, eveytime I go out there, I always get a few nice size fish. Good Luck!!

Went to Tanwax lake yesterday fishing was good untill the water skiers and jet skies showed up and they showed up in force!! Caught and released 5 or 6 triploids and a couple of standard stockers. and when the lake got busy with the other water crafts went into the cove by the resort and caught and released bunches of perch.

We made it out on the lake a little late Sunday morning it was 10:30 by the time we were getting our lines wet.We were after the bass. I started out using a rainbow Rapalla on one rod and a brown salamander on another. It took about ten casts with the Rapalla, then wham, about twelve feet out from the boat the water started splashing my rod tip took a dive. It was a nice rainbow about 14" but it never seen the inside of the boat. We covered the lake in 3 to 4 hours and put a few Crappie in the boat the bass fishin is still a little slow. A few more days of sunshine and the bass should start hitting pretty good.
