Good hard fishing in Tilton, Some people dig dark charcoal kings. They call good good smoker. I like my fish to be chrome. Use black yarn and red corkies to get those dark kings. Tight line boys and girls

Come and get it! there are so many fish being dropped off here it's crazy! Come and get you limits, I got mine within a couple hours. They're bringing fish up by the truckload from the cowlitz and dropping them off here. Watch for the other anglers, there's just a few there. tight lines.

11/23/2012 - Marlboro Man - Tilton River, Lewis County, WA
We spent the past couple days at Gust Backstom Park. Very nice folks. I caught 5 silvers on wednesday and 6 on thursday and 6 again today. Released several massive kings but they were dark. I mainly fished the deep hole above the bridge using a 1 oz cannonball and pearl pink corky. Most of my fish were taken when I was reeling in. My nephew caught 4 using a green corky. We caught most of our fish when it got dark out. You could hear hundreds splashing and jumping all night. Pretty cool. I'll be back again next weekend.

6/5/2011 - Killer - Tilton River, Lewis County, WA
Hit the Tilton and enjoyed the sunshine and nice clear river conditions. C & R some nice chrome SRC and a few fat hatchery bows on the fly. The indeginous crowd was slaughtering them at the bridge. Sure wish WF&G would creel check. Anyway, went down stream and had the place to myself. The nympying was fanstastic!

10/8/2010 - NO LUCK - Tilton River, Lewis County, WA
Fished a little hole down river from the old bridge. Was stacked full of fish. pulled and released 12 total, including the same fish 3x. A couple had signs of similar catch and release markings. Drove down to the park and laughed at the croud. It looked like a video game with all the lines crossing eachother in that small hole.

9/22/2010 - JOBEHR - Tilton River, Lewis County, WA
Fished the hole at the bridge and up stream. Saw several Kings (dark) caught. I didn't have the right corkie and yarn. (black for Kings) A local told me they saw the Kings scatter when red yarn was used. ??

6/5/2010 - Killer24 - Tilton River, Lewis County, WA
Hit the river in the p.m. in the pooring rain to find a nice hatch of huge mayflies (hexagenia?) coming back to land and drop eggs. The cutts were rolling everywhere and we had the whole place to ourselves. We C&R's over 10 cutts all well over 13 inchers on dry flies. Color was turning good and the flows were dropping into shape. Had a great time with my bro.

Came here to fish about 2 weeks ago after a slow morning at blue creek. We did'nt even get a nibble. Can anybody let me know if they even dumped any steelhead in this river this year. I can't complain about the silverz though, I've never seen so many stacked up. Even though it seemed like the fish were to shocked to bite, alot of people accidently snag the fish. Sometimes I would let the corkie&yarn drift down through a school of 50 fish and all it would do is divide them in half.(FUSRTRATING)

2/19/2000 - Wayne - Tilton River, Lewis County, WA
The Tilton Cohos are done. I saw one dark fish come in tail first and that's it. Saw a couple with rotten fins still alive and rolling, but nothing like before the rain swelled the river. It's back down to 300CFS with 44 degrees water temp. Thanks to Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery, it was fun while it lasted. Hope there'll be steelies this year.
