06/10/2014 - AF12DLT - Cowlitz River, Lewis County, WA
Fished the boat launch at the Barrier Dam from 0900-1530. Not even a nibble.
Only fish I saw was from 3 boats that were fishing down river. A few people at the dam boundary sign said the had hooked some, but I didn't see any on the bank.
Nice day on the river, let the summer begin.

03/26/2014 - Steelestalker - Skookumchuck River, Lewis County, WA
Fished the skook on Saturday. Parked at the salmon hatchery and hiked up just above the big corner hole ( Forgive me I don't know all the hole names) right were the big ecology block is located. There were already guys there, and they were super cool but it was to hard to cast and watch where everyone else was casting. So after light we left and went down river, went in just below the gate and crossed the river. Fished those sexy slots of water all the way down to the in take in the salmon hatchery and put two on the beach. About 6 lb 1 punch fish, both had a bad dream or a nightmare I should say.

Fishing blue creek on saturday 03/20.
When I got to the river there were nearly 30 boat trailers parked in the parking lot. Fished from about 8am to 12 on the blue creek bank. Saw about six or seven fished hooked from the bank. There were a few guys using bobbers with success. I was using corkies and went 0/1. Guy next to me was using corkies and went 0/1 as well on the bank. Overall great day on the water and nice to see fish coming out. Not sure how the boats did.

Got down to BC at 2230 sat night, fished there till around 0130 Sunday morning with not so much as a bump, moved up to the boat launch and fished till the sleds took over the launch with same results. Story of the day, should have been there Friday. It's the river we love to hate. Tight lines.

Since the water has been dropping we are having some success plunking. Its been one or two bites a day, and that's a full day, daylight to dark. Below mouth of Skook. Its the end of February, not good by any stretch but they had to get the nets out and so this is whats managed to get by.

02/24/2014 - Seattle slayer - Skookumchuck River, Lewis County, WA
night fished last night up at the deadline. The water is dirty but we had enough current to bounce an oz cannonball up and down to the plunkers hole. 3 of us all got fish. Some chrome some not. Not a ton of guys know when the water is running over 1000 cfm you can drift really good up there. we will be back at it tonight. No need to use a leader longer than 8ft because if you are then you are flossing. Zero pressure at night too guys so pick up your trash.

Went to the chuck, was about two hours to late to secure a spot at the deadline. I arrived at 545 am. Fished below deadline from the big boulder down the the corner slot. Went 1 for 3 and missed a couple other bobber downs. Bobber flossin was the name of the game today.
