Abernathy Creek Reports
Abernathy and Germany creeks: These small streams west of Longview can provide late summer and fall sea-run cutthroat fishing opportunities, especially near the mouths. Sea-run cutthroat and steelhead are no longer planted, but stray hatchery steelhead may be caught in the winter season beginning November 1. All wild cutthroat and steelhead must be released. These streams are closed to salmon angling at all times, and closed to all fishing during September and October to protect naturally-spawning fall chinook. The trout minimum size is 14 inches. WDFW manages a rough boat ramp at the mouth of Abernathy Creek, just off of SR-4. It has a single concrete plank ramp that may not be useable at high creek flows or low tides.
