We left the dock at 6:45 on the Shenandoah from Coho Charters. There was six of us on the boat we went out of the harbor about two miles off the coast and started fishing around some under water structure. The fish finder was showing more fish than I have ever seen on any screen. We were in 120 feet of water and the fish were 20 feet thick in depth from the bottom to 100 feet. I thought that we would limit out in the first place stopped to fish but they weren't interested in what we had to offer. A couple of bass were put in the boat within the first few minutes and captain Vince came over the load speaker REEL EM UP lets go find some fish that are biting. That's the way it went all day every spot we hit was packed with fish and we would pick up a few in each hole. I was the only lucky one to pick up my limit of lingcod. We were limited out by 2:00 and headed back to port. If you are thinking of going charter fishing I would recommend taking the Shenandoah it is a very nice boat and the captain is top of the line.

Dropped the crab rings Santa put under the tree off the public fishing float. Used a Minter Creek Chum head and some leftover turkey parts as bait. The weather was horrible, and we were totally skunked! Not even any undersized ones in the rings! Must have been all the rain. Oh well, the kids still had fun, and we stopped off and bought a few pounds of steamer clams and a dozen oysters for a feast around the fire. Good times!

Alright I'm new to the site, but have been lurking on here reading for a couple years. Fished Westport this opening weekend. Skipped Saturday cause it was rough and they wound up closing the bar almost all day anyway. Went out on Sunday morning and ran North after the opened the bar, headed to 50ft of water off the Casino on the North Shore. Fished there all day between 50-70 ft of water with a rigger at 30, the other at 40 and the deep six at approx. 20ft down. We landed 6, kept 2, 4 were natives and 2 of the 4 were 20+ lbs easy. The 2 we kept were cookie cutter 10-12 lbs. Using Cut-Plug herring and coho killers. We were beat up pretty bad out there, but we went out again to the same spot on Monday morning--this time the charter boats were following the radio chatter from the day before and followed all our small boats up. Monday the bar was much smoother and so was the ocean overall, but fishing was SLOW. 2 take downs and no fish. Saw a few caught but overall not too much going on down there the second day. Anyway, we will be going out a few more times this month so I'll keep y'all posted. Fish should be really biting better when those big tide swings slow down next weekend and continue for the rest of the month--often times those minus tides slow down the coastal fishing.

went out about 40-50mi. out and had a hayday with tuna. x-raps, hoochies and live bait. One good bait stop just about plugged the boat. It was hard to stay on the bite as the wind was blowing us off the fish. Final count 32 tuna and a few ANNOYING SHARK.

Went out with Westport charters on the discovery today with my buddy Chris for bottom fish, got my limit of lings and rock cod. We left port around 0630 water was usual with some pretty large swells till we got past the bar, sun came out and it was go time, every time we would hit a spot it was instant action with both rock and lings. Our final spot we hit there were multiple triple hook ups on one line. Saw a few whales playing around. Ala and all a great day and the crew was wonderful, buzz is a great deck hand . Going again the Friday with the wife. Tight lines
