Went to the yallup twice in the last week. Fishing is pretty slow, but the few fish I've seen have been beautiful. No luck myself. Seen a lot of darker colors being used. Water is high and silty.
It is on at the Puyallup, Kings and Coho are boiling up the. One of my fish finders was there this morning and limited out in 15 minutes. Get here early to get a good spot cause your gonna have company.
Hit the Puyallup river this afternoon and only had one hit. Brought home a little nice silver to start the season. About 4 to 5 pounds but it'll do for now. There were 7 fishermen in our area down past Fred Meyer's with only the one fish pulled out. Saw the soccer lot full of cars so expect to see a report from that area of the river soon.
Hit the 5th St. Bridge before sunrise and fished for 5 hours, didn't catch anything. Saw several people catching jacks though. Only saw one adult caught but all were chrome.
It's not a Hwag.... nor is it a trout.... what ever, got one anyway. Was for 2 hrs. at the soccer fields but had to go home to get rain gear got all soaked and wet. Then went to the combat zone got this 1 person size Silver. The reward was talking to all the nice people around me standing in the rain. Fishing overall was not bad in both places. Better to be lucky!!!! than good.....
Fished the Puyallup River Friday afternoon from about 2pm to 6pm and didn't have even one bump. Couple of twigs and nothing more. Didn't see anything caught down past Fred Meyers. About a dozen fishermen and nothing brought in. Didn't even see any fish on the whole time.
I hit a lot of area's on Saturday on the Puyallup. Started behind Toyota, just down from the combat zone. Worked several holes down and nothing. Saw a couple roll but nothing landed. Went down to the end of Levee Rd, found a trail and waded out about 20'. Tried casting both sides of the river, nada. No rolls, no bumps. Went up to 512 bridge, few guys casting, nothing doing. Went up behind Mama's, talked to two guys who were coming back; nothing doing there as well but a few jack kings. So, I wet home with an empty cooler, I'll try back over the next few weeks. Hopefully the crowds will thin out when hunting season gets going. Almost seemed like Pink Season!
Went down this morning, hit the river at 6am, fish on at 7am! Sweet, first silver of the year for me, then I realized I left my net on the shore. Played him for a while to tire him out and headed for the shore, spit the hook as my hand touched my net. Damn! Nothing else the rest of the day fishing until noon. I did see quite a few more rollers and about seven caught behind Kmart in the combat zone.
After long hours at work and a few dry sessions on the river I was rewarded yesterday Sept. 6 with a limit of 1 ea. A beatutiful Chinook and a small Coho. I had several other on but lost them. Some other were also catching.
I've been fishing the truck school, lots of fish action last week, none even evidenced thurs-sat. Let alone caught.
1 king on Thursday, lost him but was big. Can't wait til river gets some rain, that last bit really made spying fish sign easier. Maybe this time the river will be open.
Been fishing the Puyallup last few days bite really hot at times and not so much at times depending if a school of fish is pushing up rive. I always manage to slay them pinks no kings or silver's yet. Fish hugging the shores fisherman don't get to far out to the water.
Hit the puyallup today for three hours fishing one pink to shore .For about thirty people fishing seen around maybe a dozen fish caught.Would say today was a not so hot day.
Fished it for a couple of hours after work yesterday and landed a small jack king and lost 2 other fish at the bank. Lots of people and very little action. Did see a nice 15lb King landed though.
Went there for about 1.5hrs and landed a small, bright coho along with 2 pinks (released). At first people were catching fish (mostly pinks) then it started to die down around 4:30pm. Water is down and a little clearer.
