This river is a disaster. I went down yesterday and found that the tribe had hit the river with their nets a day or two before the opener and dang near cleaned out the river. Last week the river was full.

10 years ago this was an excellent fishery. Now due to continued mis-management on the part of the state its terrible. I am not sure why the state is debating with tribe. Are you kidding me. We all have equal right to fish the river regardless. I can't believe that the state even entertains this. The article stated something to the effect of "Anglers get FRI, SAT and SUN to avoid gear conflicts and protect the fish". Really? So the 100+ gill nets in the river on MON, TUES, WED and THUR must really be helping immensely with the excellent management of the fishery. This river use to be one of the best and its been allowed to managed by politic instead of by what best for the fishery and all of the legal license holding residents in the state.

This is BS. After last season, WDFW had to bend over to even get a season. It's going to be a crap show, because they moved the nets below 106, so we're going to be fishing around the nets. They've got them set up in all of the good hole, and damn near all the way across the river.

Amen to that! I was thinking about going back out there today, Sunday, and seeing what it's like. If it's good then obviously I will post what's going on. If not, that too as well and I probably won't be going down there until at least the end of the week. If you hear anything different let us know!

I live 12 miles from the skoke and have been driving by checking it out. I have seen 30+ fisherman walking on the road either coming and going on both the first and second of the month and have not seen a single person carrying a fish. I haven't even bothered fishing it. I suggest getting to the river before sunrise and trying to catch one before the nets go in the water. They are required to pull them out at dark.

So it rained and for some it rained pretty hard. Normally following that much rain the fish charge up the river and it's Fish On for most anyone with a fishing pole. As of 8:30am this morning that wasn't the case. Saw one fish caught at the Clay Bank and one roll and that was it. Did it ever get any better?

Well, been in contact with the guy who lost his fishing setup and am happy that I can return it to him! Seen fish being caught at the "Meat Hole" and a few coming up from the "Cedar Hole". From chrome to just starting to come into the spawning phase, just before the copper-ish color they become as they move up. Most men/women were pleasant, despite the few individuals who just don't know when to keep their mouths shut! Other than that, great time! Tight lines ladies and gentlemen! Pick up after yourself and just remember, everyone is there to have a good time!

Fished early Saturday morning at the cedar hole, the egg bite wasn't great. Left around 930am, it was slow and I just got tired of seeing all the snagged fish being kept. I was watching a guy teaching his son how to "fish", he told his son to cast up river and count to 5 one-thousand and set the hook, but make sure you point your rod tip down son, you get a longer floss!

Tried the Skok before and after work on 7/30/15 with the bobber only early open. Wanted to have a shot before the zoo. Only a dozen or so working the river that I saw from the guard rail up and everyone seemed to be actually fishing floats with truly suspended offerings. Heard a few were caught but not for me. Loads of fish in the river but not a one interested in my eggs or jigs. At one point I was fishing through a holding school of about 60 and they would just part in the middle as my gear drifted through. Frustrating to say the least. Even more so when a clump of eggs literally bumps into their face and they swim away. Oh well I tried and will again.

Stopped for a quick look around at about 5:30 this morning on my way to Hoodsport to try Pinks.
Drove down Purdy Rd. to the farm store turned around and drove back up. Lot's of cars and people in the water already. Stopped along the way on my way out walked and watched then headed on my way. Came back by on the way home after no love from Hoodsport around 10:30 -
11:00ish and found a little spot to try. Not much in the way of fish moving through so I didn't stay too long. Watched the show at a couple of more spots then came home. Can't fish all day gotta try to keep up with RJ;)

Gave it another shot after work on Friday 8/7 there were fish moving through the upper river above the Hwy 106 bridge. Saw a few caught some in the mouth or head and a couple landed.
There were a few Pinks in the mix as well. Didn't know they were in there. Might be Hoodsport strays but the ones I saw brought in were released.
