Why is this a sticky?
The glass is neither half full or half empty of water. The glass is just poorly engineered for the amount of water it contains.

CF,  is a guy who thrives on thinking more of himself when it comes to opinions.   his cca thread is typical of his types.   here is a CF senairio.  og,  the caveman who is working on a rare but promising chisel cutting.  its still in its rough stage,  but the concept makes sense to those observing.  fellow caveman CF is observing with suspiction.    the crude carving when finished is the wheel.   CF is the caveman to raise the quistion of doudt,  how can this wheel work?  it has no axel...

CF,  if you aren't part of the solution,  then step aside.
they turned at last to me, we shall call you the "brewer" the slayer of steelhead you shall be.

I do believe that your kind of mind set also said the same thing about our thoughts about how the RFA was also going to come here and pretty much do the same thing for us then as the CCA is claiming now.LOL

I voted no because I have many of the same questions that CF has.  I just find it more important to let the questions stand on their own rather than make me the centerpiece.  CF might try that, but I fear he has a big case of the "not invented here" syndrome.

CF FOR PRESIDENT!

don't count on anything government - they're just here to keep us from shooting each other again.  Once you figure that out, anything above and beyond that is frosting.

I would'nt say he changed my mind, but I agree with some of what he posts.
Its funny...I would throw 25 bucks in the river in a hot second, but donating the same amount to the cca, or any group requires too much thinkin. I've been watching this for a long time, and I still can't give them a penny.
Right now I think a donation would be better spent throwing some bucks into gamefishin just for keeping us better informed.

I also agree with CF and having watched a few Pro CCA folks posting on here and other threads is driving me farther away.

I remeber a certain meeting in Chehalis WA regarding the introduction of CCA into the northwest.  Many attended and even spoke including Cowlitzfisherman.   CCA was not explained as the end all save all, but a tool for sportfishermen to use to lobby for our needs.  No different than the commercial fishing lobbiest.

At this meeting, it was explained the proposed role of CCA in the northwest.  They operate very similar to DU or Rocky Mountain Elk Fdn.  Build voting members, raise funds, lobby and influence our elected officals.

I appreciate the time and effort Bob and many others have donated to our cause to perserve sportfishing in southwest washington.  However, I do not feel we have made any progress with those who make the rules.

Many, to date have attacked this problem as scientists and unfortunately it is the policticians that make the rules.  It is time we take a top down approach to solving sportfishing concerns.  Experienced lobbiest can have dramatic effects when it comes to lawmaking.

IMO CCA is worth the $25 membership.

Hasn't changed my mind but still no matter how irritating I appreciate his questions. World would be a tad bit boring if no one questioned the actions of others.

RFA does not have the track record of wins for the resource that CCA does. The plan is to work within the system and win from the point of legislation, with a lobbyist and that takes money.Check out their wins in the south and east. CCA has stopped the fishing in the estuaries and has moved the commercials offshore, there by letting the fish spawn in the estuaries and creating more fishing opportunities for sporties and the commercials. We should be getting the commercials on board with this also, but we have been at odds for so long, and they are not willing to change, even if it would mean more fish for everyone, including spawning....

A chance at what…Question  Jabbing, or actually doing something about what you believe is right? It's so easy to just make those "one liners", and then run off to wherever those "one liners" always run to off to and then chuckle! LOL

LOLCF you may think that you are actually doing something LOLLOL...but, my point was that by your being so aggressively obnoxious any organization that you are a part of suffers for it, good people with good ideas end up throwing their hands up and saying it's not worth dealing with people like you.  You would be a good example of someone who should just pay the dues to be a member but sit back and keep their mouth shut.  You stand in the way of progress. I really don't understand how anyone can be against CCA.  We've been fighting this battle for over 20 years and what have we to show for it?  Obviously what we've been doing hasn't worked.  Anyone who honestly thought CCA was going to be able to march in and restore salmon and steelhead runs over night is clearly delusional, and I get the feeling that is what some people expect.  The organization hasn't even been around a year yet in this part of the country and people are b**ching that they don't have a fully developed plan, carved in stone with the members, money and influence to make it happen over night.  I just don't get that mentality.
