Barney, I was going to use a Miller Beer - you know, the “Miller Time” slogan... But neither C nor I drink. You were not kidding about preparing the best fish fry in town – thanks again for the treat! Tup: Tup:

Yep, I was there. We trolled toward it over near the caves but it wouldn't stay still. I was hoping to find a little leprechaun in his boat holding a pot of gold...... No gold though, just Silver !! clown:

Cami & Glen,
It was to nice to finally meet you 2 at the fish cleaning station at Olson's, I have been going to Sekiu for years & you certainly have it captured well in your video.

I introduced myself as Tom also known as "Mr. Silvers", have been following gamefishin.com for over 2 years & decided it was finally time to add my 2 cents worth as well , rather than be just a viewer.

Fishin was great for my family as well as we were their the 21st thru 25th, 80 to 90% of our fish had the adipose fin intact, makes me wonder how many canadian salmon the US fishermen are catching.

Will post more as I get out to the local waters around Tacoma.

Tom, a warm welcome to GF.com. It was great to meet you and we are honored that you enjoyed our videos; thanks for commenting! C&I are glad to hear that you and your family had a super Sekiu fishing trip. That would be interesting to find out how many Canadian fish get caught during the unclipped retention season; there must be a good slug of them taken in our waters. Looking forward to your reports!

Thank you, Powder - C&I really appreciate the kind comment! This year we would like to get more river videos produced. Maybe some steel... Since I have nearly no knowledge of this fishery, perhaps a GF.com member would like to participate...

You're welcome. I would be willing to participate. Problem is i don't have a ton of experience fishing from boats in rivers, i've only done bank fishing. The couple times i've been out on boats in rivers we were pulling plugs or anchored casting dick nites or eggs, and i'm far from a pro on those techniques. But hey if you want someone to come along and learn along side of, i'm your guy!

In watching your videos during the past couple of years it apears that when you get a fish on you leave the motor in gear. Is this so? And if so, why do you do it? The only time I have seen this practice was when fishing for big game fish-Marlin, Sailfish to help to wear the fish out. I started for Salmon fishing 66 years ago at Sekiu and it was; fish-on, motor off.

I can't speak for F24 about why they leave their motor on, but, they as well as I fish Pt Defiance area quite a lot and there is a ton of other boats in the area. Think fishing in a shopping mall parking lot at Christmas time. Stopping the motor puts you into free drift and you cannot avoid other boats and fishermen who aren't paying that close of attention. If you are all alone in an area like Seiku where there is a lot of space then you can turn off the motor if you choose to.

Great question, Child of Sekiu. DBAppraiser is spot on! Plus, C&I leave the motor in gear for a couple of other reasons: (1) it helps keep constant pressure on the fish; (2) it allows us to run circles around the fish, which notifies other anglers in the area that we have a fish on; (3) it allows us to chase down a big fish, without having to fumble with re-starting the motor; and (4) it allows us to keep fishing with other poles that are out – think doubles, triples, etc...

Glen and Cami, your fantastic photos of CQ always bring back fond memories of fishing in that wonderful place. It was great to see you there again this year. Wish we could have spent more time together. You two have developed into two of the best fishers around and your photography skills are without comparison. Besides that you are a wonderful couple. Bob and I had a great time fishing together. Since we have the same old man energy level we never complain when it is time to pull the lines and walk our dogs. We caught a lot of fish this year, nothing big but Bob did win the South King County PSA Members and Family Derby with a 12.9 lb fish. We always schedule the outing around the opening for clipped fish which makes it difficult for long term planning. Perhaps we can second guess WDFW next year. Bill
