South Sound Kings

Postby Ripalip on Wed Jul 07, 2010 6:41 pm

The past three weeks has seen an increase in some very nice Kings in both MA 11 and MA13.
June produced Kings to 15 pounds at Green Point and the Sand Spit. Spoons bounced on the bottom did the trick for us in about 90-130 feet of water. Silver Horde Kingfisher spoons in the Cop Car color behind a Hot Spot flasher or Coho Killers in White Lighting, Cotton Candy and Watermelon have been doing well for me. MA 11 has picked up in the past week with some very aggressive fish feeding at Point Dalco down to the Ferry landing at Tahlequah on the incoming tide. 742 Hoochies 35" behind a flasher has also put a few fish in the box as has stark white plugs trolled fast and near the bottom. Point Defiance is also producing some very nice Kings to 25 pounds from the Hole in the wall to the Lighthouse and Owens Beach to the Slag Pile.

Dog fish have showed up right on time in MA 11. These pesky critters are hungry and have been hitting our Coho Killers regularly. We had to move several times on the 5th of July because we could not get past the doggies even trolling fast.
I see fishing in the South Sound only getting better in the next few weeks.
We have a late cancellation for Sunday the 11th of July. I will give a 20% to any Gamefishin.com member who would like to fish Sunday. Three seats are open. Give us a call 253 549-0745 for more information.

Yes that was us. I hooked a nice one at 6:30AM right at slack, but after a minute or two of battle, it was just off...that was it except for 2 rockfish....
