The year of the ling

Postby hiredgun on Mon Jun 15, 2009 4:12 pm

Well Friday was the last day for me for lings this year, and what a year is was.
Friday I took out 4 guys from Denver and a great time.
We caught 16 lings before we got our 5 keepers, but everyone left with a nice ling. The biggest was a fat 40 incher and the smallest was 32.
Possesion was on fire, We also brought home some nice rock fish with 4 over 5 lbs. It was a great way to end the year.

This year was the year of the big lings. The # per day was down but the size was way up, That I can live with LOL.
I hope next year is as good.
Sorry I can' seem to delete the copys of the first pic.
Here are some pics from the year1

All of them are from Possesion. when I moved up from Oregon 5yrs ago a freind took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. It has got better every year now that I know where the fish hold. I sure would like to get a gps to save time finding the rocks that hold fish. it's a pain trying navigate looking at shore points. lol

Nice Lings.... I dont blame you for not wanting to pinpoint good fishing locations for those Lings, but how about WHAT you were using?

I always fish around the corner west of Possesion by the second green can. I use small flatties. It just takes time to figure out how to hit the spots with the currents always changing.
