Thanks for the info. I just love how noone has to go to the river to get a report anymore. I guess I better write my name on my rock now.

Flossing? Last year when fishing at barrier for springers all of us fishing was using eggs free drifting them or under a bobber. I guess The line goes in the fishes mouth and the hook ends up deep in the mouth but the question is why is the fishes mouth open to be able to floss? Smellslike fish how do you fish? With a net?

There are always a few springers around barrier in February. No BS or anything out of the ordinary.
Worth the effort? Probably not... but soon enough.

Most people use ten foot leaders.

why does every thread end up turning into a "flossing" thread... flossing is just some stupid word someone made up because the guy next to them caught more fish, and they needed an excuse to use cuz they cant fish...if you use 10ft leaders, good for you, but you just wasted 1-2 more leaders that would have worked just as well... is there any bank access down on barrier?

yes the barrier dam is a flossers paradise but these springers actually bite well and most guys realized that last year and fished bobbers and eggs and it worked well.
Common sense is not so common anymore

probably the same length as with any other river, about a foot off the bottom... find the depth, and adjust it...

At the barrier I run a snap swivel with a 3 - 4 ft leader with a 3/4-1 1/2 ounce ball on it, with a bobber above it. I start at 8 ft or so total from my bobber stop to bait and move up and down from there. Thats fishin up in th deep pool below the dam, if you were down lower on the bar that might be too long and heavy.

the hot method is to use a loooong, light action rod(11-13 foot is the norm), big cluster of eggs and/or sand shrimp with a split shot or two, chucked out in the deep spots. let em chew on it and then stick 'em hard!
the last 2 or 3 years, it's actually gotten to where the locals will run guys out of there for tossing the 10' flosser leaders.

never thought i'd see that, wish it happened more often.

you can always use a cheater bait wieght... they stay down by the hook and no need for a bunch of split shots up the leader...
