I always assumed Seals were doing that damage!! I would never have suspected it was the "other white meat!!!"

If you are catching old Silvers it could just be other silvers marking their teritory.

That is an amazing video. I also assumed those marks were from seals. Thanks for the posting.

What did that ling think it was going to do with that salmon? I was suprised it held on as long as it did. Pretty impressive. Now imagine that thing holding on your your arm.

Cool video.
Ling don't have anyway to take chunks out and eat their prey; they need to take the prey down whole. Glad the salmon made it out before it died from exhaustion. Good thing it didn’t take the salmon out of the water and practiced good handling.

That's great footage. I wonder how big that king was (and the ling!). Those lings bite and don't let go readily.

I wonder if pickeled salmon would work as good ling bait.......... heck if there not biting that day , you could always eat the bait.

Show that to the PETA nuts who think fish suffer when caught on hook & line.

Just so happens I know the guy who got that footage up in Cooks Inlet. He said he figured the king weighed between 35 and 40 pounds and the ling he figured was between 60 and 65 pounds..... Ok, I'm pullin' your leg....

Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

i cant believe that ling let the salmon go. ive had them come all the way to the surface and not even be hooked, they are stubborn fish, if it were me though i think i may have had to help the salmon out

Great video, I wonder what that Ling thought the outcome was going to be

Two years ago at the Edmonds pier saw a 44" ling latch on to a humpy that was being landed and they netted the ling because it wouldn't let go.....shame it was oversize and out of season and they had to kick it back
