Koenings resigns?

Postby Cowlitzfisherman on Wed Nov 19, 2008 11:51 am

I heard that Koenings had resigned late last night, and that no one knew that it was coming.

Has anyone else heard that rumor? :?: ?

I think that Marsha and Steve S. may have something to add to this one.

Bob...look back at my comments during the Rossi/Gregoire thread...started by Marsha (when she thought I was against her again)...I made a comment to you that may enlighten you as to what is happening. What is happening has been going on for some time and is not a surprise to some. I refrain from further details as I know what is happening but don't want to ruin the surprise. clap:

Bob, you need to put your conspiracy jets at bay! If he did resign, it would have to be accepted by the Commission. The Commission meets next on Friday. Stay tuned......

Hey eddie, forget your old "conspiracy jets at bay" junk. Tdown: If Koenings did resign, it can only be accepted by the commission at an "official commission meeting"…DA! The commission can only take offical actions at offical meetiing... sounds like someone is now trying to line up all there ducks in order to me. I'll stick with my sources of information until I hear otherwise. Just remember, if it does happens…you heard the rumor first here...by me!

You of all people Steve… know …You hear what you hear

I did call our old friend Todd today…but he was out fishing in the OP area. His cell phone was not available to talk. So I then had asked the question hear…today!

Todd has a pretty good ear on what's happening (being and X AG officer), but like you, he's not always on top these days. I just asked the question because I had heard it from a pretty good inside source so I passed it on to us commons.

If it happens a day or 4 later… so what?

If you or your friends know something. . . that's already happen… Tdown: why not let the rest know?

Bob I filled Eddie in today and don't think it is prudent to spell out things here right now. I don't think it would change the course of events but best to keep a little quiet for now. How's that for stoking the conspiracy fires.? Give Jeff some time to come up with a good story.

I think my post was right on spot Steve

Koenings has "held the top position" for way to long :o

Maybe someone should do a public information request and see what Koenings contract actually says . . . and then post the contract

Let's say it IS true for the sake of argument. Are there any good candidates available to replace him that are more sports friendly?

There are more than a couple of candidates I hear. This is not a spur of the moment thing...ducks have been in a row for some time. I think the commission is finally going to do what they wanted to do last year but were not directed well by the governor because the governor was not briefed well enough by her staff. That is all about to change in a big way me thinks. Hopefully Phil Anderson will retire as well or go back to Westport. There will be a new chair person on the commission at the end of the year too. Ken Jacobson might have to increase his meds very soon....

I've gotten to like Jerry and hope he gets re-appointed. I'll send a letter to the gov with my thoughts on keeping him. FYI Solomans term also expires this year.

Ooops, almost forgot. Three or four years ago I would liked to have seen Rod Sando fill the directors shoes. Right now I don't know who I'd chose.

It's actually not up to "Her" directly. She was probably the better candidate in-terms of sport-fishermen, despite what Gary Loomis had to say. She appoints the commission, who at this time is more sport friendly than commercial. If the governor changed, the commission would have likely changed. The commission hires/fires the director. A sport-friendly commission is more inclined to hire a sport-friendly director.

How do you think Rossi (whose larger campaign contributors included the Columbia River Gillnetters Association) would have appointed his commission?

With Gregoire, at least we knew what we'd have to work with, and wouldn't be starting-over.

I would have given Rossi a fair chance! That's what we all deserve a chance at honesty and transparency! Once you brake that trust and act in a dishonest way then you don't deserve our trust and she doe's not deserve our trust!
